About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the team to achieve customer satisfaction and Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Employee Morale objectives
  • Ensure team safety, product quality, productivity, cost management, and employee morale
  • Plan and adjust labor to achieve production schedules and on-time shipments
  • Coach, mentor, train, and develop team leaders and team members
  • Resolve team member concerns
  • Hold associates accountable to company policies and procedures
  • Coach and counsel associates when necessary
  • Work with support functions to solve safety, quality, and production problems and improve operations
  • Manage associate time and attendance
  • Collect, analyze, and report operational data
  • Improve workflow, balancing, efficiency, processes, and procedures using data
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Assume department leadership in the absence of the Assembly Manager
  • Implement Lean manufacturing principles and methods
  • Support the Annual Operating Plan regarding performance and cost expectations
  • Report accidents and incidents
  • Train the team on safety cards and ensure their application
  • Perform other duties assigned by management and plant leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor or Associate’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Business
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing organization
  • Automotive experience a plus
  • Suitable combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Must be computer literate
  • Knowledge and enforcement of health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures
  • Ability to implement Lean manufacturing principles and methods
