About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance
- Follow standardized work instructions
- Perform mechanical maintenance on large stamping presses and feed line equipment
- Repair basic plumbing, replace drains, and operate a pipe threader
- Maintain air compressors and air dryers
- Maintain conveyor systems, including air, electric, and vibro units
- Maintain hydraulic pumps, trash pumps, and oil pumps
- Perform basic arc, MIG/TIG, and spot welding
- Rebuild cylinders and pumps
- Fabricate scrap trays, chutes, and work benches
- Support teams in operational improvement
- Develop initial standard work practices with teams
- Provide emergency and unscheduled production-equipment repairs during production
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs during machine service
- Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic production-machine systems
- Read equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and service
- Perform other necessary or appropriate duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- HS diploma/GED
- Advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs
- Prefer USDOL Journeyman’s certificate or equivalent work experience or skills training
- 5 years of previous employment in a manufacturing environment; automotive preferred
- PLC and ladder logic controls troubleshooting
- Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
- Electrical troubleshooting of relay logic from 5 volts to 480 volts
- Knowledge of PLC Design software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software
- Must be willing to obtain a forklift license, overhead crane license, and elevated lift license
- Ability to work on manlifts, ladders, roofs, and outside
- Must follow OSHA and plant safety rules, including lock-out/tag-out
