About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Discuss the next steps in product development with the Product Owner
Work with colleagues to drive the continued development of the platform
Take responsibility for the platform’s technical development and expansion
Technically assess requests for further development and implement them in the software
Collaborate professionally with all teams and stakeholders required for software operations
Take responsibility for building the technology stack
Develop product-oriented applications in the education sector, focusing on backend development, infrastructure, and robust software architecture
Apply machine learning, LLMs, and data-driven functionality pragmatically and with a strong focus on user needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 5 years of professional experience in software development
Experience with multiple applications or platforms used in production, ideally
Experience with LLM-based product features, prompting, retrieval systems, or multi-step AI workflows is a plus
Software development experience from before the current GenAI boom
Very strong Python skills
Solid experience in backend development, for example with Ruby on Rails, Django, FastAPI, or comparable frameworks
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform, AWS, or Azure
Demonstrable hands-on experience implementing ML, NLP, or data-driven applications, such as classification, RAG, embeddings, pipelines, or model integration
Experience in complex specialist domains such as education, instructional design, knowledge management, healthcare, data platforms, or regulated environments is desirable
Independent, structured way of working with a strong commitment to quality
Fast learner with confident communication skills when working with both teams and specialist departments
Experience in technical leadership, mentoring, architectural decision-making, or close collaboration with Product Owners and stakeholders
Excellent German and English language skills
