About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process litigation issues in accordance with the Firm’s policies and procedures
- Clear the case management software feed daily
- Complete assigned tasks by relevant deadlines
- Document relevant activity in the case management system
- Clear emails daily
- Work with the attorney to accomplish litigation goals and objectives on assigned cases
- Meet regularly with the assigned attorney to review and discuss pending litigation issues
- Implement litigation plans established by the attorney
- Draft required legal documents and submit them to the attorney for final approval
- Gather evidence to support relevant legal arguments
- Return litigation files to the correct location
- Ensure execution and timely filing of required pleadings, legal documents, and evidence
- Monitor the litigation calendar for deadlines and efficiency
- Bring litigation issues or concerns to the appropriate attorney’s attention
- Work with clients to complete and resolve discovery issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's degree in paralegal studies, actively enrolled in an accredited Juris Doctorate program, and/or Bachelor’s degree in any field of study
- Thorough knowledge of legal principles, legal research techniques, legal terminology, and government regulations
- Excellent legal drafting, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, and computer
- Ability to work with databases and online technological platforms
- Ability to be detail-oriented, diligent, and flexible
- Ability to handle conflicting time demands and focus on task completion with little direction or supervisory follow-up
- Proficient command of the English language in both oral and written format
- Ability to work and maintain patience with diversified individuals of various backgrounds and professional competencies
- Committed to maintaining integrity and confidentiality on behalf of clients and the Firm
- Minimum of one year of legal experience preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Authorized Nevada Notary preferred
- Participation in a two-week, on-site onboarding and new hire training program in Las Vegas, Nevada is required
