About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and support execution of the SX Fire Suppression System Project through construction, commissioning, operational readiness, and handover
  • Coordinate execution activities and communication across the mine site, home office, engineering, operations, contractors, vendors, and equipment/supply stakeholders
  • Manage execution priorities, schedules, deliverables, risks, deficiencies, and outstanding actions
  • Support field execution and resolve technical, construction, supplier, and interface issues
  • Coordinate commissioning planning, testing, inspections, system acceptance, and closeout
  • Support operational readiness, including procedures, training, documentation, maintenance requirements, spares, and turnover packages
  • Ensure execution aligns with safety, quality, regulatory, engineering, and site requirements
  • Coordinate final system turnover and handover to Operations
  • Monitor progress against the project schedule and identify constraints, recovery actions, and opportunities to maintain milestones
  • Mentor project teams and contribute to client relationships and business growth

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
  • Experience managing complex projects ranging from $500K to $10M in value
  • Extensive knowledge of the engineering design phase of projects
  • Experience with greenfield and brownfield mining and/or heavy industrial projects
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and codes of practice
  • Must be comfortable coordinating across multiple suppliers and stakeholders
  • Must be comfortable working effectively between the site and home office located in Saskatoon
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer or Applied Science Technologist in Canada or eligible to register (asset, not required)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation with PMI (strong asset, not required)
