About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Business Unit(s) VDC staff and manage staff workload, deliverables, and execution across projects
- Support regional VDC strategic planning, training, software implementation, and business unit strategic plans and sales goals
- Develop business unit workload, budgets, strategic plans, training, and software implementation
- Implement Baseline and Enterprise VDC standards
- Develop project-specific BIM Standards and Specifications and BIM Execution Plans
- Develop project coordination schedules and integrate construction and coordination schedules with project teams
- Develop project approach, scope, and budget in alignment with Project Executive and Controller
- Allocate VDC resources across multiple business units or projects
- Manage VDC Managers and Engineers to ensure project requirements, deliverables, and deadlines are met
- Staff projects with appropriate people and technology and proactively forecast resource needs
- Monitor quality and execution of project deliverables and processes and develop strategies to overcome challenges
- Develop budgets and forecast workload
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and lead a national SME sub-peer group
- Develop content for and participate in business development, sales, pursuits, and client interviews
- Build and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Participate in business unit operations, strategic planning, sales strategy sessions, support operation peer groups, and company initiatives
- Facilitate team communication, ensure project accountability, and escalate issues to upper management
- Investigate emerging technology and participate in pilot projects for new software and processes
- Identify and recruit talent
- Attend industry events

Requirements
What you’ll need- 8-10 years of relevant experience in Architecture, Engineering, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Construction Technology, or a related field
- 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Bachelor's degree in AEC or a related field preferred but not required
- Demonstrated expertise and industry knowledge gained through practical experience is valued as highly as formal education
- Equivalent combinations of education, training and/or professional experience will be considered
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong time-management and analytical skills
- Expert knowledge of BIM and design software
- Strong knowledge of complex design concepts and integrated building components and systems
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
- Ability to train and develop VDC Managers and Engineers on a variety of VDC tasks and processes
- Knowledge of various project delivery types and market sectors and how to apply them to the VDC process
- Ability to prioritize tasks of self and direct reports to achieve VDC deliverable deadlines
- Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test if offered a position
