Key responsibilities & impact

Define and oversee the clinical operational data and analytics strategy for clinical systems including Veeva, Salesforce, Medidata, and custom applications
Provide strategic leadership across concurrent projects and teams
Lead and develop a high-performing organization, including direct people leaders
Recruit, grow, and retain diverse talent; set goals and coach employees
Shape short- and long-range Clinical Systems strategies and infrastructure plans
Partner with business stakeholders and IT leadership on technical strategy and roadmaps
Lead solution design and oversee major programs and projects
Ensure on-time, high-quality, within-budget technical roadmap delivery
Serve as a technical and data strategy spokesperson
Oversee scalable data architectures, pipelines, APIs, and ETL processes
Partner with Validation and Quality teams on testing, process optimization, system enhancements, and GxP compliance
Optimize R&D applications and clinical systems to improve efficiency, cycle times, and performance
Oversee end-to-end SDLC project deliverables
Safeguard data integrity, audit readiness, and compliance
Create program-level budgets and resource plans
Drive policy adherence, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

Requirements

What you’ll need

12+ years with BS/BA, or 10+ years with MS/MA or MBA
15+ years of progressive experience in IT data analytics, business intelligence, or related fields preferred
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Analytics, or related discipline, or equivalent experience preferred
6+ years of technical project management or relevant leadership experience
8+ years of direct people-management experience
10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
Experience with AWS, AI/ML frameworks, serverless computing, data lakes, and data marts
Expertise with Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik, and ThoughtSpot
Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, data lakes, and data warehouses
Experience developing standards, metrics, and advanced methodologies across analytics programs
Executive-level communication and influencing skills
Expertise in project scope, deliverables, risks, and resource requirements
Knowledge of change management
Strong leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution, coaching, quality, and attention-to-detail skills
Ability to travel when needed
