About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Represent Gilead products and services to a defined customer base in the Charleston, SC territory
  • Generate and grow sales by achieving or exceeding sales targets within the assigned geographic area
  • Manage healthcare-provider accounts through in-person representation, face-to-face meetings, and strategic partnerships
  • Establish relationships with healthcare providers and deliver disease-awareness information, clinical updates, and healthcare education
  • Distill complex clinical concepts into understandable messages for diverse audiences
  • Build and execute a territory business plan aligned with customer needs and sales goals
  • Monitor sales progress and adjust strategies to meet or exceed targets
  • Maintain expertise in Gilead products, competitive products, and the therapeutic area
  • Promote appropriate use of Gilead products in accordance with Corporate, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines
  • Partner with field reimbursement managers, medical scientists, and other field team members to support product access, acquisition, administration, and operations
  • Collaborate with healthcare organizations and partner companies, including co-promotion efforts
  • Uphold compliance standards, ethical behavior, regulatory requirements, and company policies
  • Report adverse events to Gilead's Drug Safety and Public Health department
  • Report call activity and customer information, submit expenses, and manage the territory budget
  • Stay current on industry trends and therapeutic-area developments
  • Work autonomously while exceeding performance standards
  • Contribute to Gilead's Inclusion & Diversity efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Degree and Eleven Experience OR Associate's degree and Nine Years Experience OR Bachelor's Degree and Seven Years’ Experience OR Masters' Degree and Five Years’ Experience
  • Ability to engage in required travel, including regular travel within the assigned area
  • Satisfaction of applicable onsite visitation requirements for healthcare practitioners, potentially including vaccinations, drug screenings, and background screenings
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • Experience in selling a Buy and Bill product with proven sales success
  • Strong understanding of the therapeutic area, disease states, treatment protocols, and competitive landscape
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills for conveying complex clinical information
  • Proven record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a competitive pharmaceutical environment
  • Cultural awareness, empathy, and sensitivity when engaging diverse customers
  • Comfort engaging in conversations in the sexual health space
  • Ability to lead within a cross-functional matrix environment
  • Ability to build and maintain internal and external partnerships
  • Leadership and ethical conduct in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Ability to work independently and exceed expectations
  • Proficiency in managing and growing key accounts strategically
  • Experience managing a multiple-product portfolio
  • Demonstrated strong experience working with Denver health systems
  • Preferred: BA or BS degree
  • Preferred: minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry sales experience
  • Preferred: superior selling skills in highly competitive markets
  • Preferred: consistent record of meeting or exceeding sales objectives
  • Preferred: experience with account-focused cross-functional local teams
  • Preferred: experience selling injectable physician-administered products
  • Preferred: familiarity with the managed care landscape
