About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Represent Gilead's products and services to a defined customer base in the PBC/HCV division
- Generate and grow sales by achieving or exceeding targets within the West Virginia territory
- Engage healthcare practices through in-person representation, face-to-face meetings, and strategic partnerships
- Establish relationships with healthcare providers and deliver disease awareness information, clinical updates, and healthcare education
- Develop and execute territory business plans
- Monitor sales progress and adjust strategies to meet or exceed targets
- Maintain knowledge of Gilead products, competitive products, and therapeutic-area disease states
- Promote appropriate use of Gilead products in compliance with applicable guidelines
- Partner with field reimbursement managers, medical scientists, and other field team members to support product access, acquisition, administration, and operations
- Collaborate with healthcare organizations and partner companies, including co-promotion efforts
- Uphold compliance standards and ethical behavior, including timely adverse-event reporting
- Build long-term healthcare-provider partnerships and drive sales outcomes
- Report call activity and customer information, submit expenses, and manage the territory budget
- Stay current on technical and scientific product information and industry trends
- Contribute to Inclusion & Diversity efforts
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School and Eleven Years' Experience OR Associates Degree and Nine Years' Experience OR Bachelor's Degree and Seven Years Experience OR Master's Degree and Five Years Experience
- Ability to engage in required travel, including regular travel within the assigned area
- Satisfaction of healthcare practitioner onsite visitation requirements, including possible vaccinations, drug and background screenings
- Valid driver's license required
- A minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry sales experience preferred
- Superior selling skills focused on highly competitive markets preferred
- Proven and consistent track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives preferred
- Successful performance and collaborative leadership with account-focused cross-functional local teams preferred
- Experience selling injectable physician-administered products preferred
- Familiarity with the managed care landscape preferred
- Experience selling a Buy and Bill product with proven sales success
- Strong understanding of therapeutic-area disease states, treatment protocols, and competitive landscape
- Experience managing a multiple-product portfolio
- Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional matrix environment
- Ability to build and maintain internal and external partnerships
- Ability to work independently and exceed expectations
- Comfort engaging in conversations in the sexual health space
- Ability to comply with regulatory, state, federal, company, PhRMA, OIG, and ethical requirements
