About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Represent Gilead's products and services to a defined customer base in the PBC/HCV division
  • Generate and grow sales by achieving or exceeding targets within the West Virginia territory
  • Engage healthcare practices through in-person representation, face-to-face meetings, and strategic partnerships
  • Establish relationships with healthcare providers and deliver disease awareness information, clinical updates, and healthcare-change education
  • Distill complex clinical concepts into understandable messages for diverse audiences
  • Build healthcare-provider relationships and develop a comprehensive territory business plan
  • Monitor sales progress and adjust strategies to meet or exceed targets
  • Maintain expertise in Gilead products, competitive products, and therapeutic-area disease states
  • Promote appropriate use of Gilead products in accordance with compliance guidelines
  • Partner with field reimbursement managers, medical scientists, and other field team members to support product access, acquisition, administration, and operations
  • Collaborate with healthcare organizations and partner companies, including co-promotion efforts
  • Model compliance and ethical behavior and report adverse events to Gilead's Drug Safety and Public Health department
  • Leverage influencing and relationship skills to drive sales outcomes
  • Report call activity and customer information, submit expenses, and manage the territory budget
  • Stay current on technical and scientific product information, industry trends, and therapeutic-area changes
  • Work autonomously to exceed goals and performance standards
  • Contribute to Gilead's Inclusion & Diversity efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School and Eleven Years' Experience OR Associates Degree and Nine Years' Experience OR Bachelor's Degree and Seven Years Experience OR Master's Degree and Five Years Experience
  • Ability to engage in required travel, including regular travel within the assigned area
  • Satisfaction of applicable healthcare practitioner onsite visitation requirements, which may include vaccinations, drug and background screenings
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry sales experience preferred
  • Superior selling skills focused on highly competitive markets preferred
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales objectives, preferably in specialty markets
  • Experience selling injectable physician-administered products preferred
  • Familiarity with the managed care landscape preferred
  • Experience selling a Buy and Bill product with proven sales success
  • Advanced communication skills for conveying complex clinical information
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic-area disease states, treatment protocols, and competitive landscape
  • Experience managing a multiple-product portfolio
  • Ability to comply with Corporate, PhRMA, OIG, regulatory, state, federal, and company policies
  • Comfort engaging in conversations in the sexual health space
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a cross-functional matrix environment
