About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain People system automations and integrations across Workato, Google Cloud Platform, Claude, Workday, Greenhouse, Slack, and GitLab
- Develop Workday, Greenhouse, Slack, and internal-tool integrations using Workday Web Services, Slack API, and Bot SDK
- Build Slack apps and bots that automate manual workflows
- Write documented, version-controlled automation code in Ruby or a comparable scripting language
- Monitor integration health, troubleshoot failures, and fix root causes
- Ship changes through GitLab CI/CD pipelines while following testing, change-management, and SOX ITGC standards
- Use AI tools, LLMs, Claude, and MCP frameworks to prototype AI agents and improve People workflows
- Recommend durable, scalable, supportable solutions and partner with People Technology Analysts, Information Security, IT, and AI Engineering
- Improve automation architecture, documentation, and maintenance practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hands-on experience building automations or integrations, ideally with human resources or business systems
- Experience writing and maintaining code in Ruby or a comparable scripting language, such as Python or JavaScript, and willingness to learn Ruby
- Hands-on experience with Workato or a comparable iPaaS in a production environment
- Experience with APIs and web services, including REST and SOAP
- Proficiency with Git for version control and code review
- Daily use of AI tools to automate tasks, speed development, and improve processes
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, collaborate openly, protect highly confidential information, and take ownership of code quality and reliable outcomes
- Additional relevant experience with Workday integrations, Slack apps or bots, CI/CD pipelines, Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services, Docker or Kubernetes, LLMs, AI agents, MCP frameworks, SOX ITGC controls, Greenhouse, Serval, Google Workspace, or all-remote asynchronous work
- A related computing degree or equivalent experience is welcome; none of these is required
