About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with public sector customers to help them successfully adopt and expand GitLab across their organization
  • Deliver installation, migration, training, and advisory engagements
  • Plan and execute GitLab deployments from single-node Omnibus installations to large reference architectures
  • Use infrastructure as code and configuration as code practices
  • Oversee and perform migrations to GitLab SaaS or self-managed GitLab
  • Provide technical guidance across the GitLab feature stack
  • Partner with project managers and engagement managers to improve delivery consistency and keep work on schedule
  • Manage and deliver multiple customer projects simultaneously
  • Mentor and assist other Professional Services Engineers
  • Work with product and engineering teams to remove customer blockers and improve GitLab features and delivery processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Professional experience with one or more infrastructure as code or configuration as code tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, or Chef
  • Active Secrets or TS/SCI clearance is required for this role
  • Occasional travel to SCIF sites as needed
  • Desirable locations - DC Metro, GA, TX, AL, CO or UT
  • Ability to support public sector customers with TS/SCI clearance-related requirements for their environments and engagements
  • Ability to lead technical delivery end-to-end, including discovery, planning, documentation, and knowledge transfer
