About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare family-style meals for the crew and others daily
- Cook food in quantities according to the menu and number of crew served
- Prepare breakfast and midnight meals daily
- Bake breads and desserts
- Plan menus with the Head Cook to best utilize inventory
- Assist with inventory and ordering as requested by the Head Cook
- Assist in loading and unloading food and supplies into storage areas on various vessel levels
- Clean the kitchen area, equipment, and tools after each meal to sanitation standards
- Clean and maintain the vessel
Requirements
What you’ll need- All candidates subject to a post offer pre-employment drug test, medical and background screen
- 3+ years’ experience as a Cook on a fishing vessel or cruise ship preferred
- Highly proficient in baking and cooking, including preparing recipes for 50+ groups
- Basic understanding of applicable laws and regulations
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Ability to work aboard a 200-foot vessel with 40 crewmembers on a 24/7 schedule

- Crew paid a share of the catch each fishing trip; average crew share per trip is $6,000–$10,000 depending on the value of the catch
