About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, and support LAN, WLAN, and WAN network infrastructure
- Serve as a technical escalation point for network-related issues
- Troubleshoot network infrastructure, hardware, and connectivity issues
- Lead the design, testing, and implementation of network projects and proposals
- Test and validate new network hardware and software
- Provide network infrastructure consultation to internal and external partners
- Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operating procedures
- Prioritize, plan, schedule, and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Spend approximately 85% of time on customer projects and solutions, 10% on prioritization, planning, and scheduling, and 5% on professional growth and development
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. citizenship required because of federal regulations and the sensitive nature of the work
- 12+ years of experience in a computer/networking-related field
- JNCIP or CCNP certification required
- Experience working in production network environments
- Hands-on experience configuring and deploying Cisco, Juniper, and Aruba switches, routers, and wireless access points
- Strong experience with BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, MPLS, and Spanning Tree
- Experience leading the design and delivery of network projects
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and as part of a team
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Preferred: JNCIE or CCIE – Service Provider
- Preferred: ITIL 4 Foundation
- Preferred: Python and Ansible experience
- Preferred: Experience with Metro Ethernet networks and infrastructure
- Preferred: Familiarity with enterprise and user networks
