About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the design and development of AI-powered features across front-end, back-end, and data workflows
Prototype and ship internal tools and customer-facing applications using modern web technologies
Work with product managers and engineers to translate customer problems into clear product requirements
Gain exposure to integrating AI models into real-world software systems
Partner with engineers, researchers, and operators to test, iterate, and improve AI-driven workflows
Participate in design discussions, sprint planning, and code reviews
Assist with improving performance, reliability, and usability of deployed applications
Analyze data, evaluate AI outputs, and iterate based on real customer feedback
Contribute to projects modernizing government workflows, improving healthcare outcomes, or optimizing critical infrastructure
Ship work to production for use by real users

Requirements

What you’ll need

Current undergraduate student, specifically a junior or senior, pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field
Experience with software development fundamentals through coursework, internships, or personal projects
Familiarity with or willingness to learn Python, TypeScript, React, REST APIs, and cloud platforms
Curiosity about AI systems, product thinking, and real-world machine-learning applications
Ability to solve ambiguous problems and learn quickly in fast-paced environments
Clear communication, collaboration, and ownership of work
Excitement to work directly on impactful problems rather than purely theoretical projects
Legally authorized to work in the US
Expected graduation date between June 2027 and June 2028
Available to work full-time for the entire co-op, January 11–April 30, 2027, in San Francisco, CA
