About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and own Brain Co.'s motion vocabulary across marketing, product demos, social, events, and film
  • Extend the visual identity into time-based media, including launch videos, explainer animations, and conference visuals
  • Partner with product design to establish motion principles for easing, loading states, transitions, and micro-interactions
  • Build high-impact demos and films to support new business with governments, healthcare systems, and critical industries
  • Establish AI-assisted motion production frameworks, including tool selection, workflows, and visual-system standards
  • Produce finished motion work hands-on
  • Report to the Head of Design and collaborate with brand and product designers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Brand designer with a foundation in typography, composition, and systems thinking
  • Fluent in After Effects and Rive
  • 3D experience with Cinema 4D or Blender is a plus, not a requirement
  • Experience creating motion frameworks that other people produced work from
  • Ability to defend design decisions in live critique and articulate brand rationale
  • Experience owning the motion dimension of a brand in-house or as an agency lead
  • Curiosity about AI generation tools and informed opinions on their appropriate use
  • Based in San Francisco or ready to relocate
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
