About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, maintain and deliver the project’s engagement plan aligned with the project strategy
- Plan and organise meetings, one-to-one engagements and events for the engagement workstream
- Identify and recruit private wealth holders and institutional asset owners for project working groups and committees
- Coordinate consultations, information sharing and involvement of project partners including the University of Oxford and Just Climate
- Keep the investor network informed of project progress and maintain buy-in to project objectives
- Maintain decision-useful engagement information in the CRM system
- Maintain a map of programme-relevant initiatives and allies and incorporate engagement priorities into the engagement plan
- Coordinate consultations with initiatives and allies to ensure methodological alignment, support and avoid duplication
- Organise programmatic investor events with the project team and Global Canopy Communications team
- Collaborate with Communications on project showcases, messaging, social media mentions and relevant statements
- Contribute to funder reporting and monitoring, evaluation and learning, particularly for the engagement workstream
- Contribute to programmatic fundraising and development of the Nature-Positive Strategy
- Represent Global Canopy in external meetings and events
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent relationship management and external communications experience working with demanding stakeholders
- Ability to identify target audiences, support and motivate active network members, and convert passive or reluctant contacts into active network members
- Demonstrable experience credibly engaging with the financial sector on nature and/or biodiversity themes
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrable, significant experience delivering on a multi-year action plan relevant to private wealth and/or financial sector engagement
- Experience planning and delivering events that bring together external stakeholders
- Demonstrable alignment with the project’s vision and mission and Global Canopy’s strategy through education and experience in nature, sustainability and/or finance
- Proactive, resilient and self-motivated
- Intellectually curious and willing to learn and progress through less knowledgeable areas
- Collaborative, able to work independently and committed to continuous improvement
- Right-to-work in the UK required
- Desirable: experience working with private wealth holders and/or family offices
- Desirable: experience working for an organisation with a global scope
- Desirable: familiarity with the nexus between human rights and nature-related issues
