About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and oversee daily enterprise transaction monitoring operations
- Manage Suspicious Activity Report (SAR), Currency Transaction Report (CTR), and Designation of Exempt Person (DOEP) regulatory reporting
- Assist with developing, implementing, and overseeing the BSA/AML transaction monitoring program
- Establish and update BSA/AML transaction monitoring policies and procedures
- Lead, develop, train, and provide feedback to BSA/AML Monitoring Analysts
- Ensure timely, accurate, and documented CTR and SAR filings and resolve FinCEN-reported errors
- Conduct quality reviews and identify process improvements
- Refine alert review processes and oversee the investigation lifecycle
- Participate in system upgrades and recommend automation and process improvements
- Manage the DOEP process, including eligibility reviews, filings, annual reviews, documentation, and discrepancy resolution
- Collaborate with BSA/AML Management to optimize monitoring parameters and reduce false positives
- Serve as a transaction monitoring subject matter expert and liaison with business lines
- Support ongoing education and awareness of emerging AML trends and regulatory expectations
- Stay current with BSA/AML laws, regulations, best practices, and internal policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in business, criminal justice, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, information technology, or a related field is required
- Four years of related experience, in addition to the minimum years of experience required, may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of six years of experience supporting BSA/AML activities for large financial institutions
- Expert knowledge of BSA/AML-related regulations
- Experience overseeing compliance program development and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Ability to manage risk models and familiarity with BSA/AML monitoring software
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Project management proficiency and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to interpret legal documents, government regulations, and professional publications and apply them to processes
- Ability to understand, analyze, and articulate business line data
- Proven ability to work effectively with and influence peers and senior management
- Proficiency in MS Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel
