About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Translate Khmer to English or English to Khmer accurately
  • Edit and review translated materials for accuracy, grammar, formatting, and consistency
  • Translate and edit official documents, including vital records, legal documents, official certificates, and academic transcripts
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow client-specific instructions and formatting requirements
  • Meet assigned deadlines, including one-to-two-day turnaround timelines when required
  • Work on assignments provided on an as-needed basis

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens willing to complete a Tier 1 background investigation, including fingerprinting
  • U.S. Citizenship and current residence in the United States are required
  • Native or highly proficient Khmer and English language skills
  • Two to five years of proven experience as a translator and/or editor
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent formatting skills, and ability to produce client-ready work
  • Reliable, deadline-oriented, highly productive, and comfortable working independently
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, professional approach
  • Access to up-to-date Windows software and ability to work with standard document formats
  • Able to provide per-word rates for translation and editing
  • Willingness to accept assignments on an as-needed basis
  • A Bachelor’s degree in translation, linguistics, language studies, or an equivalent qualification is preferred
