About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical leadership, coaching, and coding support to development teams
Implement and further develop architectural guidelines
Support the development and launch of new products and features
Take responsibility for the technical quality of the software developed
Define and enforce development standards and best practices
Contribute to architectural decisions and create technical concepts
Support the setup and operation of containerized platforms using Docker and Kubernetes
Contribute to deployments
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines
Ensure security requirements and secure coding practices are met
Support monitoring, logging, and observability concepts
Analyze and resolve technical challenges and performance issues
Coordinate technical activities within agile development teams
Conduct code reviews and promote high software quality
Act as a technical contact for internal stakeholders and customers
Work closely with Product Owners and developers
Translate architectural guidelines into concrete solutions
Actively develop complex solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, mathematics, data science, engineering, or a comparable field of study
Several years of software development experience and initial experience in technical leadership
Experience with modern software architectures and agile development methodologies
Solid knowledge of cloud-native architectures, container technologies, and CI/CD
Experience implementing scalable and maintainable software solutions
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Structured and solution-oriented approach to work
Strong hands-on mentality and willingness to remain actively involved in development
Knowledge of Docker, Linux, YAML-based IaC models, AWS, Azure, MSSQL, Kafka, Spark, PostgreSQL, React, Angular or Vue, JUnit, Cypress, TLS, Keycloak, LDAP, OAuth, SPAs, Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
Knowledge of Kubernetes
Knowledge of Grafana
Knowledge of BPMN and orchestration
Knowledge of Python and AI
Experience in the insurance or health insurance sector
Knowledge of Insurance Application Architecture (VAA)
Experience with regulatory requirements, including GDPR, ISO 27001, and BSI standards
Experience with architecture reviews and technical quality processes
Experience introducing best practices and architecture governance
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, combined with knowledge of best practices
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage interdisciplinary teams
Innovative and strategic mindset combined with a hands-on mentality
Fluent German, both written and spoken (at least C1 level)
Business-fluent English
