About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Keep customer general ledgers up to date by recording financial transactions accurately and timely
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements with general ledgers, identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Enter costs, expenses, and COGS into the accounting system with proper coding and classification
- Manage a portfolio of client accounts, including timely reconciliations, accurate financial reporting, and monthly close procedures
- Support month-end close activities and investigate discrepancies
- Communicate with clients to obtain missing information or resolve accounting issues
- Prepare income statements and balance sheets regularly
- Provide accounting support to internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and tax standards
- Keep current with accounting and tax standards
- Collaborate with team members to improve bookkeeping processes and workflows
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Advanced English
- 2+ years of experience in a bookkeeping role or a related position
- Practical knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Exposure to managing multiple client accounts simultaneously is beneficial
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.)
- Ability to accurately record financial transactions and maintain ledger entries
- Understanding of financial reports such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
- Ability to spot discrepancies and rectify errors in financial records
- Clear and concise communication skills to interact with clients and gather necessary financial information
- Excellent organizational skills to manage financial documents systematically
- Efficient time management to meet deadlines and handle multiple client tasks simultaneously
- Analytical skills to reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and financial records
