About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Administer and provide support for DBMSs, ensuring the security, availability, integrity, and efficiency of databases
  • Analyze the performance of SQL queries executed by programs, software, and applications
  • Write and propose improvements to SQL queries, with an emphasis on performance
  • Proactively monitor application performance in experimentation, development, and testing environments
  • Propose changes to data models to improve performance
  • Perform data loads between environments using administration tools
  • Analyze viable alternatives for implementing functional or operational solutions involving the use of DBMSs
  • Analyze and identify the impact of changes made to DBMSs
  • Develop new features and contribute to a robust, scalable product that impacts users at large companies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong experience in relational and multidimensional database modeling
  • Knowledge of ETL tools and processes
  • Strong experience with relational, analytical, and NoSQL databases and tools
  • Knowledge of table partitioning techniques
  • Experience with VLDBs
  • Experience with DDL, DML, and DCL for relational, analytical, and NoSQL databases
  • At least one certification in Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2, SAP ASE, SAP IQ, or MySQL
