About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in Agile software development, DevOps practices, and production support
  • Attend and participate in scrum events, including sprint activities, daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives
  • Participate in team or departmental meetings
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation
  • Assist with building and improving DevOps tooling, including pipelines and static scanning
  • Complete the internship program final capstone presentation
  • Maintain a production-first mindset focused on scale, uptime, and rapidly triaging and resolving production issues
  • Contribute to Agile practice improvements that enhance product quality and time to market
  • Learn to develop product features for data marketplaces, mobile applications, web applications, and API services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Help improve development tools and processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a student pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Computer Science with at least one semester remaining upon start of the internship
  • Must possess a minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale
  • Junior or Senior classification preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to give presentations and communicate with business leaders
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and conceptual skills required
  • Detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Able to work independently or in a team setting
  • Previous internships are a plus
  • Ability to use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot
  • Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias
  • Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted research, summarization, and content generation
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development or automation is preferred
  • Knowledge of prompting techniques is preferred
  • Awareness of emerging GenAI capabilities and limitations is preferred
  • Must not require immigration-related sponsorship or work authorization support from GM Financial, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, or J-1 support
