About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical support for desktop hardware, software, and related technologies
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and assist with issue resolution
  • Support end users, manage service requests, and facilitate trouble tickets
  • Maintain, configure, support, and implement desktop computing hardware and software
  • Research and develop future technologies for use at GM Financial
  • Execute hardware, software, and licensing inventory tracking and control
  • Maintain IT lab and storage areas and keep them clean and organized
  • Maintain records of borrowed lab and storage room equipment
  • Maintain spare computers and monitors for quick replacement
  • Work closely with technology teams to deliver effective user support
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Conform with company policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Support-level knowledge in Windows 10 operating systems and/or iOS
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, DHCP, and DNS
  • In-depth knowledge of PC hardware and software
  • Ability to correct PC-related problems in a timely manner
  • Organization and prioritization in a technical environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills to evaluate problems and issues and recommend courses of action
  • Interpersonal skills to work well with others in teams and collaborative work situations
  • Ability to accept change and adapt to organizational change and shifting priorities
  • Ability to use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot
  • Ability to evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias
  • Experience integrating AI into workflows
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted research, summarization, and content generation
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection
  • 1–2 years of related experience and/or training in enterprise technical support; equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Must be a current student pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or Statistics
  • Must have at least one semester remaining upon start of the internship
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale
