About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical leadership for GM Financial’s Customer Identity & Access Management, Consent & Preference Management, and AI & Automation platforms
  • Design and build scalable, cloud-native solutions using .NET, React, React Native, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern API architectures
  • Design and implement identity patterns for web, mobile, machine-to-machine, and agentic AI use cases
  • Build AI-powered applications using OpenAI, large language models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, vector-based knowledge retrieval, and agent orchestration patterns
  • Mentor engineers, influence architecture decisions, and drive delivery of secure, scalable, and compliant customer-facing solutions
  • Partner with team members to increase software skills, system understanding, and design thinking
  • Engage across teams to accomplish business objectives using intentional architecture
  • Collaborate with other towers, shared services, and external vendors
  • Research and champion new tools and approaches
  • Assist team members with cloud technology implementation
  • Champion Agile and DevOps to improve product quality, time to market, and team member experience
  • Invest in automated testing and pipelines for frequent deployments
  • Maintain a production-first focus on scale, uptime, and rapid issue resolution
  • Promote modern software development patterns emphasizing simplicity, reuse, and security
  • Help maintain the agile team’s technical backlog with product management and solutions architecture
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on core systems and guide maintenance and support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Hands-on development with .NET and ASP.NET Core backend services
  • Frontend and mobile development using React and React Native
  • Auth0 and modern CIAM patterns, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, MFA, and WebAuthn
  • Identity and authorization for agentic AI, including delegated access, service-to-service access, and secure agent workflows
  • Consent & Preference Management experience; Cassie experience preferred
  • Kubernetes and Docker-based cloud-native deployment
  • CI/CD pipeline design, automated testing, and automated security controls
  • OpenAI and large language model application integration
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation, vector-based retrieval, and grounding patterns
  • AI agent architecture, orchestration, observability, security, and governance
  • API security, production reliability, scalability, and zero-trust design principles
  • Technical leadership, architecture influence, cross-team collaboration, and engineering mentorship
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development or automation preferred
  • Knowledge of prompting techniques to improve output quality preferred
  • Awareness of emerging GenAI capabilities and limitations preferred
  • 7–10 years of software development experience required
  • 2–4 years of experience leading multi-developer projects required
  • 2–4 years as a lead and/or subject matter expert preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field, and/or commensurate experience preferred
  • Must not require visa sponsorship for this position
