About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive product vision, prioritization, and delivery of customer-focused solutions
- Translate business and customer needs into actionable product requirements
- Partner with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors
- Manage the product backlog and lead backlog prioritization with product management
- Define high-quality, customer-centric user stories
- Analyze and communicate customer requirements
- Recommend system, product, and process enhancements
- Identify and introduce new approaches and technologies in product development
- Improve products, services, and processes through innovation and Lean methodologies
- Collaborate with Program/Product Managers on product roadmap initiatives
- Create solutions with measurable value for customers
- Partner with vendors and internal departments to define and document tasks, deliverables, and SLAs
- Communicate project status and production performance to leadership, business partners, and vendors
- Coordinate product launch scope and on-time delivery of key features
- Measure product performance using relevant information, processes, and systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Working knowledge of risk management, loss control management, and coordinating vendor relationships
- Thorough understanding of vision/roadmap creation and portfolio/program/team backlog creation, refinement, and prioritization
- Proficient understanding of XML/JSON-based APIs, cloud technologies, service virtualization, test data management, and data-driven decision-making
- Working knowledge of Agile/SAFe Lean enterprise concepts and best practices
- Experience working within a matrix organization and collaborating with business stakeholders, UX teams, project managers, product managers, developers, and others
- Ability to define product roadmaps and identify requirements
- Ability to demonstrate servant-leader management principles and practices
- Ability to deliver product experiences using Design Thinking and Lean methodologies
- Advanced interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and cross-collaboration skills
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Persuasive and negotiation skills
- Presentation skills
- Ability to use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot
- Ability to evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias
- Experience integrating AI into workflows
- Familiarity with AI-assisted research, summarization, and content generation
- Understanding of responsible AI use, ethics, and data protection
- 4–6 years of experience as a Product Owner/Manager on an Agile Scrum team
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Agile Certification (PSPO, CSP-PO, POPM, or APM) required
- Bachelor’s degree or additional equivalent work or military experience preferred
- Advanced Agile Certification preferred
