About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze credit data to determine risk in extending credit
- Approve or deny credit within established authority and state/federal laws
- Develop dealer relationships supporting volume objectives and credit quality
- Capture automotive finance contracts meeting profitability criteria
- Coordinate with other departments to maximize branch efficiency
- Work all queues to acceptable service levels
- Conduct joint dealer calls with the Dealer Relationship Manager as needed
- Perform outbound telemarketing calls to dealer customers
- Establish and track monthly goals for assigned dealers
- Ensure proper documentation is received for all deals
- Partner with dealers and internal teams to support portfolio growth and maintain credit quality
- Analyze financial information, monitor performance goals, and ensure timely processing of credit transactions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of consumer finance and banking environment
- Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of indirect retail auto financing
- Knowledge of motor vehicle retail installment documentation
- Knowledge of sales, credit, and funding processes in consumer finance
- Knowledge of the company’s credit policies
- Knowledge of the retail automobile finance industry
- Working knowledge of consumer credit, credit laws, and regulations
- Ability to professionally represent GM Financial
- Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to continuous business improvement
- Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Innovative thinking and strategic vision
- Sales skills to develop and maintain productive dealer relationships
- Ability to use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot
- Ability to evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias
- Experience integrating AI into workflows
- Familiarity with AI-assisted research, summarization, and content generation
- Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2–3 years of underwriting/sales experience in the automotive industry preferred
- Must not require visa sponsorship
