About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design mechanical integration solutions for LED display and façade lighting projects
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and architects
  • Prepare component and assembly drawings required for manufacturing and assembly
  • Perform simulations to validate the structural integrity of designs
  • Determine manufacturing methods and options to support procurement and production teams
  • Produce models, renderings, and technical analyses for project documentation, client proposals, and certifications
  • Coordinate testing conducted by external suppliers or laboratories
  • Conduct failure mode analyses
  • Design, manufacture, and test prototypes
  • Define product installation procedures for field sites
  • Define production steps and the jigs and fixtures required for manufacturing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible for membership
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Practical experience in product design
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks — required
  • Experience with 3D printing
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturability
  • Excellent conceptualization and design skills
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence various teams and functions
  • Ability to adapt to constantly changing requirements and environments
  • Self-motivated, with strong initiative
  • Collaborative mindset and results-oriented approach
  • Ability to take existing work, improve it, and propose solutions
  • Experience in lighting, construction, or architecture is an asset
  • Knowledge of certification standards and processes is an asset
  • Knowledge of LED displays and lighting fixtures is an asset
