About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead discovery workshops and architecture assessments for Cisco ThousandEyes solutions
  • Serve as the Level 3+ technical escalation point for complex BGP, routing, SD-WAN, and platform issues
  • Define and document reference architectures, agent deployment standards, dashboard/reporting frameworks, and integration patterns
  • Partner with Sales, Presales, and Solution Architecture teams on engagement scoping, Statements of Work, effort and pricing, and client presentations
  • Lead onboarding and migration engagements, including legacy monitoring rationalization and enterprise-scale agent rollout planning
  • Provide architectural guidance for ThousandEyes integrations with network, cloud, and SD-WAN environments
  • Lead client-facing Quarterly Business Reviews and roadmap sessions
  • Mentor Level 1/Level 2 engineers through runbooks, knowledge-transfer sessions, and escalation reviews
  • Drive automation and API-based integrations using ThousandEyes API, Python, and Terraform
  • Evaluate new Cisco ThousandEyes capabilities and lead proof-of-concept efforts
  • Own technical relationships for strategic and enterprise accounts
  • Participate in global cross-time-zone delivery, including occasional after-hours support for critical escalations or major incidents

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • English proficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of network engineering/architecture experience
  • 3+ years designing and leading Cisco ThousandEyes deployments at enterprise scale
  • Deep expertise across ThousandEyes test types: Network, DNS, HTTP Server, Page Load, Voice, and BGP
  • Experience with ThousandEyes agent types: Cloud, Enterprise, and Endpoint
  • Expert-level knowledge of BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, Cisco Viptela/Meraki SD-WAN, AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, and GCP Interconnect
  • Experience leading client-facing discovery, architecture design, and presales/SOW scoping engagements
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, ThousandEyes API, and Terraform
  • CCNP or CCIE, or equivalent advanced networking certification, required
  • Experience integrating ThousandEyes with ITSM/SIEM platforms such as ServiceNow and Splunk
  • Exceptional executive communication, consulting, and presentation skills
  • Ability to mentor technical teams and lead globally distributed, cross-time-zone engagements
  • Advanced certifications strongly preferred
  • Cisco ThousandEyes certification strongly preferred
