About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own design for assigned fragrance collections and brand systems across SKUs, sizes, and substrates
  • Build distinct visual territories including color palettes, typography, finishes, pattern/illustration, iconography, and layout rules
  • Develop designs across luxury, masstige, mass, clean/clinical, vintage apothecary, Y2K/Gen Z, gender-neutral, holiday/gifting, and collaboration styles
  • Translate trends and cultural signals into commercially strong, retailer-ready designs
  • Create on-pack architecture balancing brand, line, variant, claims, regulatory requirements, beauty, and clarity
  • Design comps and mockups for on-pack, secondary, merchandising, e-commerce thumbnails/PDP, and simple POS
  • Build concise style guides and toolkits covering logo usage, type systems, color logic, finishes, and layout patterns
  • Use finishes and materials such as foil, emboss/deboss, soft-touch, and textures with cost tiers in mind
  • Run fast exploration through mood boards, type studies, palette/finish options, and A/B shelf and thumbnail tests
  • Present rationale tied to consumer, retailer, and price tier; iterate based on feedback
  • Conduct competitive scans and trend maps
  • Design in-store merchandising displays per retailer and brand requirements
  • Partner with Product Development, Compliance, Packaging Engineering, and Creative to ensure manufacturability
  • Annotate design intent and provide build notes
  • Prepare organized files, naming, links, and specification notes for production/prepress
  • QA hierarchy, legibility, color calls, and dieline fit; support proof reviews
  • Share best practices with peers/juniors and contribute to libraries, templates, and checklists

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or related; or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in packaging and brand design (CPG/beauty/fragrance or adjacent), ideally with mass/private label experience
  • Strong visual craft: typography, composition, hierarchy, and color systems; portfolio shows breadth across aesthetics and depth of refinement
  • Proven ability to turn direction into distinctive, scalable on-pack systems
  • Clear presenter and storyteller; can defend choices with consumer and commercial logic
  • Collaborative, organized, and reliable under deadlines
  • Working knowledge of print/production to design
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign (expert)
  • Strong knowledge of Figma or Keynote/PowerPoint for guidelines and sell-in
  • 3D familiarity (KeyShot, Blender, Cinema 4D, or Adobe Substance/Dimension) for believable mockups is a plus
  • Experience directing or collaborating on photography/CG for product and hero imagery
  • Exposure to CAD/structural workflows (Esko, ArtiosCAD/Studio)
  • Familiarity with retailer compliance and sustainability considerations (materials, coatings, recyclability)
