About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide engineering oversight for the SRV6 storage and virtualization environment supporting the PACAF BlackCore network
Develop documentation of storage and virtual platform configurations, policies, and procedures
Conduct informal training for PACAF personnel
Support maintenance of the storage and virtualization environment across all three sites
Act as technical lead in troubleshooting and incident management during management stack service interruptions
Monitor storage and virtual platform performance and adjust configurations to maximize resiliency and availability
Provide advanced troubleshooting for connectivity, performance, and security issues
Assist the Government with creation, consultation, revision, finalization, and submission of RMF deliverables
Develop System Security Plans, enclave Ports Protocol Services Matrices, STIG results, policies, scans, charters, POAMs, and system topologies
Collect and develop A&A artifacts in accordance with the AO Office
Oversee hardware and software upgrades, installation, and maintenance
Travel to PACAF MOBs and GSUs to conduct assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Active Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance required
DoD 8140 certification: one of CISM, CISSO, CPTE, CySA+, FITSP-A, GCSA, CISA, CISSP, CISSP-ISSEP, GSLC, or GSNA
OR DoD 8570.1-M certification at Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 3: CASP+ CE, CISA, CISSP, or CCSP
Maintain relevant expert-level industry certification such as CCIE or JCIE
Maintain relevant professional-level industry certification such as VMware Certified Professional, VMware Certified Advanced Professional, or Dell Technologies Proven Professional
Minimum 2+ years of experience focused on Dell, Cisco, and VMware solutions
In-depth knowledge of datacenter compute and virtualization technology
Professional-level proficiency with virtualization concepts and storage protocols including iSCSI, Fiber Channel, Fiber Channel over Ethernet, and Network File System
Ability to manage the entire storage and virtualization stack implementation process
Experience overseeing hardware and software upgrades, installation, and maintenance
Ability to optimize network efficiency and ensure high application performance
In-depth knowledge of network security principles and cybersecurity protocols
Ability to analyze and diagnose complex network problems
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
Ability to oversee and produce accurate, comprehensive documentation
In-depth experience collecting and developing A&A artifacts
Ability to provide mitigation and follow-on action recommendations, including POAMs
Experience with email and communication platforms including MS Teams, MS SharePoint, and VoIP phones
Proficiency with Microsoft tools including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Ability to collaborate with others
Ability to brief technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
Familiarity with DoD security standards, ATO processes, and compliance
Understanding of AF Cyber architecture and PACAF MOB and GSU roles
Experience briefing senior leaders and large audiences
Ability to travel to PACAF MOBs and GSUs up to 10% of the time
