About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise assigned staff and help them efficiently utilize time and resources
  • Participate in hiring, training and evaluation of assigned staff
  • Represent administration on internal and community committees and task forces
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Coach and monitor employee performance and conduct annual performance evaluations
  • Review and approve documentation for compliance with established standards
  • Provide administrative and supervisory backup to the Manager of Regional Center Services
  • Supervise and manage social workers conducting initial and continuing social assessments and overall case planning
  • Prepare monthly intake and referral statistics
  • Review and process documentation created by staff
  • Perform Supervisor of Day functions as required
  • Provide backup to Social Workers as needed
  • Participate voluntarily in the Supervisory On-Call rotation
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional assigned duties
  • Maintain confidential client information in compliance with HIPAA and the California Lanterman Act

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in multi-cultural settings and/or multi-lingual capacity
  • Demonstrated knowledge of agency policy and procedures
  • Training and facilitation skills
  • Interview techniques to ensure person centered planning
  • Strong managerial skills
  • Knowledge of principles, objectives and techniques of counseling individuals
  • Knowledge of normal and abnormal individual and group behavior, human growth and development of family relationships
  • Knowledge of community structure and organization and how to intervene constructively on client’s behalf
  • Ability to maintain case records in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to develop standard business communications using proper grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Ability to convey complex information and ideas clearly, concisely and professionally
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment
  • Basic familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook or similar software applications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related human services field required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Valid Clinical License at time of hire and ability to maintain license in good standing preferred
  • Local travel within San Mateo County
  • Occasional statewide travel to sites throughout California
  • Reliable transportation permitting travel between multiple locations throughout the day
