About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support buyers with day-to-day procurement activity across direct and indirect spend
  • Support tender processes by gathering requirements, issuing documentation, and comparing supplier pricing
  • Manage due diligence, compliance checks, and onboarding approvals for new suppliers
  • Track action logs and maintain meeting minutes
  • Support risk, audit, and sustainability requirements
  • Maintain the contract database and keep contract records accurate and up to date
  • Monitor contract renewal and expiry dates and provide timely reports and reminders
  • Administer contract approval processes for new and renewing agreements
  • Handle purchase orders, pricing administration, and day-to-day purchasing queries
  • Maintain accurate product, supplier, and pricing information in procurement systems
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding orders, availability, lead times, and daily requirements
  • Produce and maintain procurement trackers, reports, and dashboards
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, data quality, and policy compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in administration, customer service, purchasing, commercial support, or a similar role
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence working with numerical information, data, and reporting
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to build relationships with colleagues and suppliers
  • Ability to coordinate meetings and follow up with stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently with high self-motivation
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • General proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Desirable: experience with third-party suppliers or procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or contract management
  • Desirable: familiarity with ERP, MRP, purchasing, or contract management systems
  • Desirable: exposure to sourcing, tenders, or quotation processes
  • Desirable: background or interest in energy, renewables, or construction sectors
  • Ability to attend the Chippenham office once a week or once a month, based on location
  • Availability for a 30-hour work week
