About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead AI-first adoption by using AI tools and prompt engineering to automate work and improve time-to-value.
- Question requirements to identify what is actually needed and ensure the team builds the right solutions.
- Collaborate with an AI-first product development team building and scaling enterprise financial products.
- Take end-to-end ownership of the product, designing systems that satisfy customers and validating assumptions with data-driven insights.
- Lead products from concept through deployment through continuous testing, learning, and improvement.
- Own the full product lifecycle: prioritize, define, design, build, test, run, and own the product.
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 2 years of backend engineering experience, particularly Java.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, scalable systems, and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with agentic coding and AI-driven or automated coding systems.
- Understanding of system architecture principles and experience contributing to technical solutions and implementation decisions.
- Proficiency with Claude Code or another autonomous-capable coding agent.
- Comfortable integrating AI tools into the development workflow.
- Product thinking and ownership focused on customer problems and product success.
- Ability to speak directly with customers or subject matter experts to understand their needs.
- Creative and analytical problem-solving skills balancing technical decisions with business outcomes.
- Ability to adapt, work quickly, wear multiple hats, and maintain focus on the big picture.
- Collaborative mindset and readiness to take ownership of features and team initiatives.
- Fluent in English.
- Belief in and experience with automated testing frameworks.
- Willingness to learn new domains and technologies.
- Experience building simple apps with AI tools.
- Experience experimenting with MCP servers and familiarity with prompt/context engineering.
- Nice to have: understanding of system thinking, experience with Behavior-Driven Development, and avid reading.
