About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyze and develop system requirements
Build and code applications and modules using Natural with ADABAS
Code and debug Natural code
Conduct QA/testing
Support code migration to a production environment
Develop and maintain software processes to transfer files using Connect:Direct
Provide patches and upgrades to existing systems
Participate in planning system and development deployment
Meet software compliance standards
Prepare operating instructions and program development documentation
Analyze system capabilities to resolve questions regarding program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls
Design and code applications following specifications using appropriate tools
Maintain and modify existing software applications
Analyze system factors, including input/output requirements, information flow, hardware/software requirements, and alternative problem-resolution methods
Perform modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures
Participate in code reviews for adherence to standards and specifications
Write or revise program, operations, and user-guide documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Currently possess a Top Secret clearance
Strong experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process
Experience with large-scale applications on a mainframe platform or client server environment, developing in both Batch and Online environments
Experience working with customers in defining requirements
Strong ability to design solutions across multiple systems or sub-systems
Demonstrated experience interacting with software application program development and management personnel
Proficient in O365 components including Word and Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, or commensurate experience
Preferred: Working knowledge of IBM's Connect:Direct for file transfers
Preferred: Proficiency programming in Natural using ADABAS
Preferred: Experience with Software AG's NaturalONE Eclipse-based development environment
Preferred: Experience with IBM MQ
Preferred: Familiarity with Confluence and/or Jira
Preferred: Working knowledge of ServiceNow
Preferred: Experience with meeting hosting via MS Teams
