About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and deploy a bi-directional integration between ServiceNow and Jira
Develop, maintain, and expand custom ServiceNow applications using the Now Platform
Develop front-end and back-end components connected to a blended technology stack
Interconnect ServiceNow functions with legacy systems
Rapidly deliver lightweight back-end services and front-end public-facing web stacks
Diagnose and troubleshoot production application issues
Promote innovation in technologies, processes, and tools
Work with Product Owners and Scrum Teams on requirements decomposition, backlog refinement, and breaking down user stories and tasks
Support the Product Owner and interact with stakeholders
Perform unit and integration testing
Interface with internal and Government management personnel

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific/technical discipline; 10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
15+ years of work experience
5+ years of development experience
2+ years of experience in ServiceNow and the Now Platform, including ITSM, App Engine and/or Integration Hub
Ability to design, discuss, and document system strategies for platforms, applications, and networks
Experience writing unit and end-to-end automated tests
Proficiency with Jira and GitHub
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification and hands-on experience building custom applications on the Now Platform
Strong expertise in JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub
Experience with REST/SOAP integrations, webhook frameworks, authentication models, and cross-platform data mapping
Familiarity with Jira project structure, issue data models, workflows, and service account configurations
Ability to design scalable integration architectures meeting enterprise security, governance, and SDLC standards
Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance
Preferred: ServiceNow development and Now Platform experience including ITSM, App Engine, Integration Hub, Mobile Studio, and Automated Test Framework
Preferred: Java development experience
