  • Apply colored stone chips, powered steel, or coloring powder to produce prescribed finishes
  • Produce rough concrete surfaces using a broom
  • Mix cement using a hoe or concrete-mixing machine
  • Direct subgrade work, concrete mixing, and form setting as needed
  • Specialize in finishing steps and stairways when designated as Step Finisher
  • Break up and repair old concrete surfaces using pneumatic tools when designated Cement Mason Maintenance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience
  • Appropriate training and experience required
  • Work rapidly and accurately with hands
  • Follow set procedures and standards
  • Compare and see differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects
  • Picture objects from drawings or diagrams
  • Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked
  • Calculate amounts of concrete required for each job
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
  • Ability to climb and maintain body balance
  • Ability to use hands and arms fully
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, crawl, or crouch for long periods
  • Ability to see well, either naturally or with correction
