About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical engineering and cost information to ensure construction work complies with engineering standards
Assist with job controls for contracts, budgets, schedules, forecasting, and job costing
Interpret designs and drawings for craft workers to ensure specifications are followed
Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and ensure quality construction
Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interference, and errors
Prepare status reports, punch lists, completed-work sketches, and material requirement calculations
Provide technical support for project material controls, delivery dates, construction schedules, and design requirements
Prepare drawings and sketches for construction work, change orders, and estimates
Provide building control lines and elevations for accurate material measurement and installation
Develop quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs, and equipment data for estimates and bids
Research historical data and productivity analysis reports for future estimating guidelines
May supervise, direct, and mentor project staff
Represent the company, project, and/or department in client and project management meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience
2+ years of construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience
Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Proficiency with scheduling and AGTEK Take-off software
Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques
Working knowledge of drawings, specifications, building materials, and applicable standards
Ability to perform trigonometric calculations manually or with a calculator
Ability to assume responsibility and communicate effectively with others
Ability to work around large construction equipment and comply with safety requirements
Ability and willingness to abide by Granite’s Code of Conduct
Valid driver’s license and ability to drive
Federal experience preferred
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Willingness to work subject to outside working conditions
