About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer regional recruiting, employee relations, benefits, compensation, training and development, talent management, and labor relations
- Lead the region’s Human Resources functions by consulting, guiding, and educating management and employees
- Communicate and provide guidance on federal and state laws affecting hiring, retention, corrective coaching, and termination processes
- Liaise between the corporate office and the field regarding policies, procedures, program rollouts, leave administration, and EEO
- Coach and train line managers on employee-relations practices and procedures
- Assist supervisors with terminations
- Coordinate the Employee Dispute Resolution Program
- Conduct internal investigations and recommend solutions regarding complaints
- Assist regional management in identifying and developing talent
- Guide, train, and coach employees and managers on performance management
- Support, advise, and partner with management on Human Resources programs and policies
- Comply with and promote corporate safety initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent relevant work experience
- Minimum 5 years Human Resources generalist experience
- PHR certification desired
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and personal information of employees
- Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Knowledge of HR regulations and laws including ADA, FMLA, EEO, Labor Unions, FLSA
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Public speaking and presentation skills
- Leadership skills
- Ability to travel
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive
- Team player
- Adhere to Granite’s Code of Conduct on a daily basis
- Ability to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, use a computer keyboard, and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds
