About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate a tractor equipped with a front-attached blade to level subgrade for road construction
- Operate the motor grader safely and efficiently according to company safety standards
- Align the machine, cutterhead, or depth gauge marker with reference stakes and ground guidelines
- Attach different blades or attachments to equipment
- Conduct daily equipment inspections, greasing, and oiling to maintain proper working condition
- Read engineering drawings, plans, and specifications
- Participate in on-the-job training
Requirements
What you’ll need- GPS and UTS experience
- Proficiency operating manually and with Bluetop
- Ability to operate a motor grader safely and efficiently according to company safety standards
- Experience with GPS is a plus
- Grading experience is preferred
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience
- Proper certification required
- Appropriate training and experience required
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Good safety habits
- Ability to work in dusty or dirty surroundings
- Ability to follow instructions and meet set standards
- Ability to judge distances and slopes accurately
- Ability to make decisions based on verifiable standards
- Ability to stoop, bend, and crouch
- Ability to use hands, arms, and legs fully
- Ability to see well, naturally or with correction
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds
