About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop real-time automation solutions from the manufacturing plant floor to the enterprise level
- Engineer and implement real-time automation controls and information solutions
- Conceptualize solutions during the project design phase
- Program, debug, and test systems
- Create project engineering notes, proposals, design traceability documentation, case studies, and other documentation
- Commission new solutions at client sites and identify improvement opportunities
- Create methodologies and solve complex problems
- Learn new technologies
- Mentor colleagues on areas of expertise
- Work with PLC/PAC programming, HMI and operator interface design, SCADA, networking, databases, and vision systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Successful or upcoming completion of B.Sc. Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering Technology degree
- Academic or working experience with some or all listed technologies
- Meticulous, conscientious, analytical, focused, self-starter individual who is a quick learner
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid Driver’s License
- Full-time access to a personal vehicle
- Must be located in Central Virginia or Maryland
- Willingness to travel up to 30–50% across VA, MD, PA, NJ, and DE
- Associated with and reporting to Grantek’s Allentown, PA office
- Preferably experience in the food and beverage or life sciences industries
