About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain operation of the Blanking Department by producing blanks required by the blanker schedule
- Inspect the assigned blanker to ensure guards are in place and assess roll alignment, brakes, housekeeping and paperwork before production
- Ensure blank quality through visual inspection and machine adjustments as needed
- Complete roll changes and print changes on the machine
- Unstack blanks from the machine and load them onto a blank cart
- Continuously monitor blank and print quality during production
- Report potential quality issues
- Use cutting knives, cutting gloves, pushers, conversion carts, miscellaneous tools, hoists, pallet jacks, stretch wrap, tape, blank carts and covers
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1-2 years’ experience manufacturing/industrial machine operator experience required
- Prior experience utilizing pallet jack highly preferred
- Must be able to walk on mostly concrete surfaces to retrieve blank carts and travel to the warehouse throughout shifts
- Must be able to use pallet jacks to move full carts and paper rolls, exerting approximately 35 pounds of push/pull force over approximately 5–30 feet
- Must be able to climb small step ladders to remove paper jams and may need to climb the back of the machine to make adjustments
- Must be able to forward bend momentarily up to 90 degrees
- Must be able to reach between waist and shoulder height occasionally throughout the shift
- Must be able to work in a high-paced, multi-task environment
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Must work overtime as necessary, including weekends
- Must comply with company work rules, code of conduct, safety procedures and policies
- Must wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, hearing protection and safety goggles
