About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct, leverage, and guide the work of others and mobilize resources
- Monitor and achieve operational and/or financial results for the area of responsibility
- Manage people-related actions including hiring, terminating, rewarding, training, and developing employees
- Manage experienced professionals and/or supervisors with latitude and independence
- Head one or more sections or a small department
- Adapt departmental plans and priorities to meet short-term challenges
- Solve operational problems and assess their broader departmental impact
- Advise subordinates to meet schedules and resolve technical problems
- Integrate the area of responsibility with other areas to achieve department objectives
- Interpret and administer policies, processes, and procedures
- Develop and administer schedules and performance requirements, with possible budget responsibilities
- Interact with internal personnel and outside representatives to resolve operational and scheduling issues
- Participate in and present at internal and external meetings
- Follow Safe Quality Food procedures and report or correct potentially unsafe conditions

Requirements
What you’ll need- BA degree or related work experience required in lieu of degree
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Experience managing experienced professionals and/or supervisors
- Ability to manage two or more direct reports
- Knowledge of operational policies, concepts, theories, and principles in own discipline
- Basic knowledge of other disciplines
- Ability to manage hiring, terminating, rewarding, training, and developing employees
- Ability to develop and administer schedules and performance requirements
- Ability to participate in and present at internal and external meetings
- Ability to follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, allergens, and Safe Quality Food procedures
- Ability to report unsafe food conditions and customer complaints
- Ability to participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
