About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assemble and disassemble paper converting manufacturing equipment
  • Test and debug mechanical/electrical devices for proper operation
  • Install and repair electrical production devices within the plant
  • Perform breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, and predictive maintenance on production equipment, utilities, and building/grounds
  • Complete parts requisitions, work orders, and time sheets in the computerized manufacturing maintenance management system
  • Disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace defective or worn parts, and reassemble equipment
  • Replace fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches
  • Work independently and on production teams
  • Demonstrate safe manufacturing work practices
  • Use PLCs for routine troubleshooting
  • Complete associated manufacturing paperwork
  • Adhere to preventative/predictive maintenance production schedules
  • Read and work from mechanical and electrical blueprints
  • Follow Safe Quality Food procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • Participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions as required
  • Perform other manufacturing duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Basic working knowledge of machine tools: drill presses, welders, grinders
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Must have experience with production machinery involved in the folding carton industry
  • Must have own tools needed to make mechanical and/or electrical repairs
  • Must be able to work overtime, other shifts, and Saturdays/Sundays when needed
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work alternate schedules and overtime, including early mornings, nights, and/or weekends
  • Ability to be punctual while working alternate schedules
  • Ability to perform routine lifting up to 20 lbs and occasional lifting up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to push/pull a pallet jack with up to 45 lb force load
  • Ability to use various hand and electrical tools and equipment
  • Ability to work in areas of fluctuating temperature
  • Ability to follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, allergens, and Safe Quality Foods procedures
  • Ability to report potentially unsafe SQF conditions and participate in root cause and corrective actions
