About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate extrusion machinery to produce finished goods rolls conforming to quality and profile specifications
  • Accurately complete and process documents for tracking extrusion operations
  • Make process changes and roll changes
  • Inspect quality during the extrusion process and/or on finished rolls
  • Communicate pertinent information at shift change
  • Understand and practice all safety procedures and rules
  • Know the locations of and how to operate emergency stop buttons and fire extinguishers
  • Provide relief to other team members as necessary
  • Follow standard operating procedures
  • Support the extrusion line and learn multiple jobs, initially including unwind, winder, or scale operation
  • Safely and efficiently operate extrusion equipment within standard guidelines
  • Meet maximum output rates and monitor the extrusion process

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Mechanical/technical aptitude
  • Ability to read a tape measure to increments as small as 1/32 or learn how to read a tape measure
  • Entry-level computer skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly, written and verbally
  • Ability to read and follow instructions
  • Knowledge of safety rules and regulations
  • 1–2 years of stable manufacturing experience preferred
  • Background check and drug screen required for employment
  • Must wear steel-toe shoes, hair and/or beard nets, safety glasses, and earplugs at a minimum
  • Ability to work additional hours/overtime as needed, sometimes with 24–48 hours of notice, including weekends
  • Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push, pull, reach, handle, grasp, and grip
  • Visual acuity for near and far distances
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work as part of a team or alone in some situations
