About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Adjust and run the gluing machine
  • Operate folding/gluing equipment
  • Feed the gluer
  • Assist with make-readies
  • Maintain accurate records and production sheets
  • Ensure product quality and production efficiency
  • Communicate relevant information to facilitate production flow
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Perform make-readies on straight-line and autobottom boxes
  • Perform general cleanup
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Attend and participate in ongoing training
  • Follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, allergen, and Safe Quality Food procedures
  • Report potentially unsafe conditions and customer complaints to a person of authority
  • Participate in SQF root-cause investigations and corrective actions as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Grade 12 or acceptable experience
  • On-the-job related experience required
  • Familiarity with and ability to adhere to company safety policies and government legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to adapt and take initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Good physical condition and ability to perform heavy lifting
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to lead change
