About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Direct, leverage, and guide the work of others and mobilize resources
Monitor and achieve operational and/or financial results for the area of responsibility
Manage people, including hiring, terminating, rewarding, training, and developing employees
Manage experienced professionals and/or supervisors
Head one or more sections or a small department
Adapt departmental plans and priorities to meet short-term challenges
Solve operational problems and advise subordinates on schedules and technical issues
Interpret and administer policies, processes, and procedures
Develop and administer schedules and performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities
Interact with internal personnel and outside representatives
Participate in and present at internal and external meetings
Follow Safe Quality Food rules, processes, hygiene, and allergen procedures
Report potentially unsafe food or SQF conditions and customer complaints
Participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
Plan, direct, and manage the finishing department operation to achieve safety, quality, and productivity objectives
Support and assist the Plant Manager in daily facility operations
Direct finishing production at the lowest cost consistent with quality and quantity specifications
Develop, recommend, and implement operating policies
Coordinate and collaborate with all plant departments
Establish performance goals, allocate resources, and assess employee performance
Lead continuous improvement in safety, quality/customer satisfaction, productivity, waste reduction, and throughput
Assist and support the Plant and Operations Manager in all aspects
Protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s reputation and act consistently with its core values

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Education or equivalent + 6 yrs related experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
2-5 years of management/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Results driven individual with goals of advancing within the organization
Experience with SAP preferred
Foresight, creativity, sense of urgency, and good organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills
Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation
