About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, direct, and monitor production to meet specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards
  • Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, and other functions to develop production schedules and allocate labor and capital resources
  • Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance and downtime to minimize disruptions
  • Direct, leverage, and guide the work of others
  • Monitor and achieve operational and/or financial results
  • Hire, terminate, reward, train, and develop employees
  • Manage experienced professionals and/or supervisors
  • Head one or more sections or a small department
  • Adapt departmental plans and priorities to meet short-term challenges
  • Advise subordinates to meet schedules and resolve technical problems
  • Develop and administer schedules and performance requirements, with possible budget responsibilities
  • Interact with internal personnel and outside representatives regarding operational and scheduling issues
  • Participate in and present at internal and external meetings
  • Follow plant, process, hygiene, allergen, and SQF procedures
  • Report potentially unsafe food conditions and customer complaints

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Education or equivalent + 6 yrs related experience
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Experience managing experienced professionals and/or supervisors
  • Experience directing, leveraging, and guiding the work of others
  • Knowledge of production planning, scheduling, maintenance, quality standards, and resource allocation
  • Understanding of business integration across departments
  • Ability to interpret and administer policies, processes, and procedures
  • Ability to develop and administer schedules and performance requirements
  • Ability to resolve operational, scheduling, and technical problems
  • Safe Quality Food (SQF) knowledge and procedural compliance
