About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate and maintain a Bobst basket gluer
- Comply with company and department safety, quality, productivity, and security procedures
- Accurately record production reports, specification verification, quality requirements, machine logbooks, checklists, and SAP information
- Monitor machine operation, make adjustments, and assist the lead operator with issue resolution
- Operate glue monitoring and control systems
- Participate in the Standard Work system and take ownership of the working environment
- Communicate machine and department issues to supervisors, converting manager, and lead operators
- Arrive 5–15 minutes before shift start unless otherwise directed
- Communicate quality issues to printing and cutting operators
- Assist in breaking out operators as needed
- Monitor product quality and maintain requirements
- Participate in lean manufacturing teams and cross-functional process improvement
- Enter information into SAP and use the ei3 system
- Follow Safe Quality Foods procedures, report unsafe conditions and complaints, and participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong mathematical skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated, self-starter
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of GPI Forklift Certification
- Proficient in English, with ability to communicate, read, and understand work-related instructions and safety procedures and requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred
