About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Set up and operate straight-line, inner cell, 4-corner, and 6-corner gluers and related equipment
- Observe automatic feeding, folding, and gluing to detect machine malfunctions
- Inspect completed production for defects and conformance to work-order specifications
- Adjust machinery to correct production variations
- Maintain daily time and materials usage reports in Peak and SAP
- Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment
- Disassemble machines to maintain, repair, or replace worn or broken parts using hand tools
- Assist temporary employees with task assignments while reinforcing housekeeping, safety, and company core values
- Review job tickets
- Perform make-ready activities and general gluer or window-machine setup
- Run jobs according to customer specifications
- Perform quality control for carton alignment, glue adhesion, and proper folding
- Verify and communicate product and work standards to the crew
- Perform minor maintenance, troubleshooting, calibrations, adjustments, repairs, and authorized equipment modifications
- Clean the area around the gluer and maintain housekeeping
Requirements
What you’ll need- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Mechanical/technical aptitude
- Entry Level Computer skill
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work alternate schedules and overtime, including early mornings, nights, and/or weekends
- Punctuality
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to perform awkward and/or repetitive movements
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull a pallet jack with up to 50 lb. push force
- Ability to use various hand and electrical tools and equipment
- Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures
- Follow plant, hygiene, allergen, and Safe Quality Food procedures
- Report potentially unsafe food conditions and customer complaints
- Participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions as required
